Hi guys, Laura here today to share an idea for those fabulous fairy lights in the November kit.
I can’t take any credit for the design or the crochet. My Pet Crocheter (aka Mum) made this fun popcorn stitch Christmas tree for me a few years back. We couldn’t remember who the pattern was by as we were cruising Pinterest and going off on tangents... I’m sure you all know what that is like!
A quick Google this year shows it is a 2015 pattern by Oana.
It’s in Italian first, then English (U.S. terms). If you can crochet I recommend checking her out. (If you can’t crochet have your Pet Crocheter do the work for you!)
Once you have your base crocheted you can decorate it however you wish. I’ve used individual sequins pinned on, strings of sequins and this year... aren’t the fairy lights just perfect? I’ve used a pin at the top and a pin at the bottom to secure them in place. I’ve also added one of the silver glittery stars to the top supported by a couple more pins.
As I say I can’t take any credit. Thanks to Oana for the pattern, My Pet Crocheter for the hooky magic and Emma for picking such awesome kit supplies!
I’ll be back soon with another project – just as soon as I can decide what to make!
