DIY FATHER CHRISTMAS TREAT TRAY | CRICUT

Updated: Nov 28, 2022

Treat father Christmas to a mince pie and a glass of milk in style this year with a handmade treat tray to pop his treats onto on Christmas Eve! Don't forget the carrot for the reindeers too!

I used one of my own images from Cricut Design Space for this project and added it onto a tray using smart vinyl, but you could use any permanent vinyl for this project.

YOU WILL NEED:

-Cricut Explore or Maker

-Acrylic Paint

-Mod Podge or PVA Glue

PROJECT LINK:

STEP ONE:

Open a new project in Cricut Design Space and add the image onto the canvas. Resize the image to fit your tray then head to make it.

STEP TWO:

Next prepare your tray, mix acrylic paint with mod podge or PVA glue and paint the tray.

STEP THREE:

Load the vinyl into the machine to cut. Once cut unload from the machine and weed the design by removing all of the excess vinyl.

STEP FOUR:

Use a piece of transfer tape to move the vinyl cut from the backing sheet onto the tray, rub well with a scraper tool before peeling back the transfer tape, leaving the vinyl design behind.

Now all that is left to do, is to prepare the treats for Father Christmas and set it all out by the fireplace.
