DIY PERSONALISED CHRISTMAS EVE BOX

Updated: Nov 28, 2022

A Christmas Eve box is a perfect treat to make Christmas Eve extra magical, so why not personalise a box using Vinyl and your Cricut machine?

YOU WILL NEED:

-Small Suitcase Box

FIND THE PROJECT HERE:

STEP ONE:

Load up the project in Cricut Design Space and resize to fit your box.

Next load the smart vinyl one colour at a time face up into your Cricut Joy machine. Set the material setting to Smart vinyl permanent-holographic patterns then start cutting.

STEP TWO:

Once the machine has finished cutting, remove the vinyl from the machine. Carefully cut around your design so that you can use the remaining vinyl another time.

Next, take your weeding tool and carefully remove all of the excess vinyl leaving only the rainbow images on the backing sheet.

STEP THREE:

Next, take a piece of transfer tape and lay it onto the top layer of the design, then scrape both sides of the vinyl and remove the backing so that it is attached to the transfer tape.

Next, lay this piece of transfer tape over the next layer and repeat the process so that that layer is also attached to the transfer tape.

Repeat again to pick up the final layer, then put the whole thing onto the box, scrape with the scraper tool then carefully peel back the transfer tape to reveal your finished box!

You can now fill the box with some treats for Christmas eve, like new Pjs, a book and a lovely mug for hot chocolate!
